Once one of the poorest Gulf States, Qatar is now one of the richest countries in the region and the world’s larger exporter of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
The Study Mission will help students to understand how Qatar’s political tie with Iran has determined the blockade imposed by Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt in 2017 as well as the rational behind the Qatari decision to leave OPEC.
The ease of the Gulf crisis in 2021 paves the way to Qatari affirmation in the region and at international level.
