TOPIC

During the simulation, participants will take on the role of a member of the European Parliament and will debate new paths for fostering LGBTIQ + rights within the European Union and its member States.

In fact, Art. 21 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union states that - inter alia - any discrimination based on any ground such as sexual orientation shall be prohibited.

In 2021, the European Parliament passed in plenary session Resolution 2021/2557 (RSP) declaring the territory of the European Union as an 'LGBTIQ Freedom Zone'. Nevertheless, achieving the objective is still a long way off.

Participating in the simulation of the EU Parliament will allow you to understand the dynamics beyond such a topic better, considering the various interests within the Member States.
Take the opportunity!
