How to partecipate

Topic: “Climate change and the current geopolitical scenario”

Model UN Economic Diplomacy New York is a unique combined training experience designed for students who want to make a change in the international community.

The Model UN is a role-play simulation of the UN System, delivered by eastwest ONLUS, about climate change and the current geopolitical scenario. During the Model UN students will learn more about the UN and diplomacy, as well as speaking, debating, and writing skills, team working, and leadership abilities. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to meet remarkable speakers, International Organizations representatives, diplomats, managers, professors, and opinion makers.

The top 40 participants will have the chance to enrich the experience and take part in the Company Board Simulation (without any extra fee), an exclusive training experience designed to offer the opportunity to discover and explore the world of economic diplomacy and to understand the dynamics behind the choices of public actors and private multinational private companies.

In a highly interconnected world, the study of fundamental economic dynamics has become crucial to understand diplomatic relations, where public and private interests are inextricably linked.

The project is based on the “learning-by-doing” approach, which is the leitmotif of all training activities organized by the Eastwest European Institute (EWEI) and eastwest ONLUS.

PRE-DEPARTURE ONLINE WEBINARS

In the months preceding the simulation, the students will take part in 10 online intensive webinars of an hour and a half each, aimed at explaining the functioning and dynamics of the Model UN simulation (including public speaking, negotiation, UN system, writing skills, and research). All webinars will be recorded and can be watched at any time.

Virtual activities will be held on Zoom.
