Main Topic

Understanding the fundamental economic dynamics (not only political) has become a crucial feature of diplomatic debates.

Technical notions of economic negotiations are indispensable to compare the most important multilateral institutions with the most relevant private multinationals.

Model Economic Diplomacy provides students with a strong technical knowledge of both private and public sectors, which they then can apply in a practical real-life context.

Farnesina Day

After the webinar course, students will spend one day at the Italian Foreign Office, to practice their economic diplomacy skills through a guided simulation on «non-communicable diseases» based on real multilateral negotiations conducted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During this day, students will work together with young diplomats.

The first two days, students will have the opportunity to work on the economic contents of the Agenda of the Economic and Financial Committee of the United Nations General Assembly, with a focus on non-communicable diseases (NCD).

During the following days, students will practice their economic  negotiation skills through meetings and guided Board simulations at the headquarters of prestigious companies as Pepsi Cola, Eataly, Philip Morris, Unicredit, City Group and Bloomberg.
